Vintage Pair of Mid-Century Georg Jensen Candelabra 956 Henning Koppel

This is a vintage pair of sculptural sterling silver Georg Jensen three-light candelabra, design by Henning Koppel from 1946.

This was Henning Koppel’s first hollowware design for Georg Jensen and was a radical departure in form and technique from anything they had produced before. The piece is an abstract sculpture, the technique involved casting silver, a departure from Georg Jensen’s traditional hammered silver. The piece stands on four “feet”, the three candles are all at different heights.

Measures 7″ in length x 6″ across and 5″ in height (17cm x 14.5cm, 13cm). These are solid silver and very heavy, weighing 89oz (2.5kg) in total.

Vintage Georg Jensen hallmarks from 1945-1977, very few of these were made when first released.

All our items have been professionally polished by our Georg Jensen trained silversmith and are in excellent condition.
