Vintage Hans Hansen Oval Art Deco Tureen 1934

This is an Art Deco sterling silver Han Hansen tureen, designed in 1933 by Karl Gustav Hansen. Hans Hansen is one of the premier Danish silver makers, Karl Gustav Hansen is the son of founder Hans, it was Karl Gustav’s designs that brought the company to the forefront of Danish design. This sauce boat is catalogued as design #137 (page 139) in the Koldinghus Museum book on Karl Gustav Hansen from 1994.

Dimensions: Measures 13 7/8″ in total length including the handles and 5 1/2″ in height to the top of the finial (35.2cm, 14cm). The oval bowl is 11″ x 6 11/16″ (28cm x 17cm).

Hallmarks: Marked underneath, “Anno 1934 Hans Hansen Denmark 925S”.
