Vintage Georg Jensen Henning Koppel Tea and Coffee Set on Tray 1017

A vintage modern sterling silver Georg Jensen tea and coffee set with tray with handles of guaiacum (a South American hardwood), design #1017 by Henning Koppel from circa 1952. A very sought after design that won a gold medal at the Milan Triennial in 1954. A very organic design with nearly disguised hinged that hold the lids to the tea and coffee pot. The amount of exaggerated negative space at the handles gives a more three dimensional look to the pots in this set. The tray is a circle in an ellipse form shell.  The fabrication of this set can only be achieved by the most seasoned silversmith, therefore production numbers are limited.

Dimensions:

  • Coffee Pot 6″ (15cm) in height
  • Teapot 4″ (10cm)
  • Cream jug 2 3/8″ (6.4cm), this is the rare smaller version #1017B
  • Sugar bowl 1 3/4″ (4.5cm)
  • Tray 21″ x 18″ (52cm x 45cm).

Hallmarks: Vintage Georg Jensen hallmarks from 1945-1977, the tray is from 2017.

All our items have been professionally polished by our Georg Jensen trained silversmith and are in excellent condition.
