Vintage Georg Jensen Henning Koppel Tea and Coffee Set on Tray 1017

A vintage modern sterling silver Georg Jensen tea and coffee set with handles of guaiacum (a South American hardwood) and matching tray, design #1017 by Henning Koppel from circa 1952. A very sought after design that won a gold medal at the Milan Triennial in 1954. A very organic design with nearly disguised hinged that hold the lids to the tea and coffee pot. The amount of exaggerated negative space at the handles gives a more three dimensional look to pots in this set. The tray is an ellipse form shell. The fabrication of this set can only be achieved by the most seasoned silversmith, therefore production numbers are limited.

Dimensions:

  • Coffee Pot 6″ (15cm) in height
  • Teapot 4″ (10cm)
  • Cream jug 3″ (7.5cm)
  • Sugar bowl 1 3/4″ (4.5cm)
  • Tray 21″ x 18″ (52cm x 45cm).

Hallmarks: Vintage Georg Jensen hallmarks from 1945-1977, the teapot is from 2001 and the tray is from 2017.

All our items have been professionally polished by our Georg Jensen trained silversmith and are in excellent condition.
