Georg Jensen Cypress Sterling Silverware Set For 12

This is a Georg Jensen Cypress silverware service, with twelve settings of eight pieces plus servers. Cypress is design #99 by Tias Eckhoff. Norwegian designer Tias Eckhoff’s Cypress was the winning design in a competition to design a flatware pattern for the 50th anniversary of the Georg Jensen Silversmithy in 1954. Eckhoff was awarded the prestigious Lunning prize in 1953 at a young age of 27 years old. Eckhoff was educated as a ceramicist and worked as artistic leader of Porsgrunds Porcelain Factory in Norway.

 The set consists of:

• 12 dinner forks 7 1/2″ (19cm)
• 12 dinner knives 8 3/4″ (22.3cm) stainless steel blades
• 12 oval soup spoons 7 3/4″ (19.7cm)
• 12 luncheon/salad forks 6 3/4″(17.2cm)
• 12 luncheon/salad knives 7 7/8″ (20.1) stainless steel blades
• 12 dessert spoons 7″ (17.8cm)
• 12 pastry forks 5 7/8″ (15cm)
• 12 coffee spoons 4 3/8″ (11.2cm)

2 serving spoons 8 1/2″ (21.5cm), 1 gravy ladle 8″ (20.2cm), 1 meat serving fork 8 1/4″ (21cm), 2 condiment spoons 5 3/4″ (14.5cm), 2 cold cuts forks 6 3/4″ (17.2cm), 1 caddy spoon 4 3/8″ (11cm) & 1 bottle opener 5 1/2″ (14cm).

106 pieces in all, in excellent polished vintage condition. All pieces are polished by a Georg Jensen trained silversmith.
