Vintage F. Hingelberg Sauce Boat & Ladle by Svend Weihrauch

Hingelberg was one of the premier silvers makers in Denmark at the time, their hand craftsmanship is of the absolute highest quality. There are cracks in the ivory handles commensurate with age. This sauce boat and ladle is pictured on page 177 in the book on Svend Weihrauch released in conjunction with a Weihrauch exhibition at Koldinghus Museum in 1998.

The sauce boat measures 4 1/2″ in height x 7″ in length with the handle x 3 7/8″ across (11.3cm x 17.5cm x 10cm). The ladle is 7 5/8″ (19.3cm)in length. Gross weight including the handles 17.28oz (490g).

With hallmark for F. Hingelberg from 1948-1971, “Sterling Denmark F. Hingelberg Aarhus 925S 36702”. The Hingelberg hallmark is topped by a crown, denoting them as purveyors to the Royal Danish Court. The number “36702” is a design number. Both pieces are also marked with London import hallmarks for 1962.
