Vintage A. Michelsen Cocktail Jug by Ole Hagen

This is an heavy glass cocktail jug mounted with sterling silver, together with matching spoon. Designed by Ole Hagen for Copenhagen silver smithy A. Michelsen. The silver spout includes a strainer and is easily removable for cleaning. There is a second silver rim fixed to the top of the jug. The glass jug is marked with 50ml measuring increments and there is a flattened section on each side to give better grip.

Dimensions: Jug 8 3/8″ (21cm) in height. The spoon is 11½” (29.5cm) in length.

Volume: Holds 23.66 fl.oz (700ml) to the top mark, the jug can hold circa 32.12 fl.oz (950ml).

Hallmarks: Both the removable silver rim and the fixed silver rim are hallmarked “A. MICHELSEN STERLING DENMARK”. The A. Michelsen hallmark, is topped with a crown, denoting that Michelsen were purveyors to the Royal Danish Court. The spoon is also hallmarked “A. MICHELSEN STERLING DENMARK”, together with Ole Hagen’s design monogram.
