Very Early Georg Jensen Compote 178 Johan Rohde

An extremely early Georg Jensen stemmed compote with a 1916 date stamp, design #178 by Johan Rode from 1915.

There is a great deal of ornate work on the stem and under side of this piece. The hours of hand-chasing on this piece would surpass the silversmiths production time. To find a piece like this with fabrication date one year after the design date is extremely rare.

Dimensions: Measures 7″ in height, diameter of the bowl is 7 1/2″ (18.2cm,19cm).

Hallmarks: Vintage Georg Jensen hallmarks from 1915-1927, and date stamped 1916, 830s.

All our items have been professionally polished by our Georg Jensen trained silversmith and are in excellent condition.
