Rare Georg Jensen Sterling Silver Bowl 731

A very rare Georg Jensen sterling silver bowl, design #731 by Johan Rohde (1856-1935) from 1930. This bowl shows Rohde’s transition into Art Deco, a design period both he and Georg Jensen experienced toward the end of their lives. The beveled bowl sits on a round foot and is hand hammered. The construction of the bowl would have taken a considerable amount of time and is probably the reason very few of these were ever made.
