Georg Jensen Johan Rohde Sauce Boat 304

A rare and early Georg Jensen silver sauce boat, design #304 by Johan Rohde from 1919. Modern for its design year this elegant slightly hammered sauce boat has signs of early Art Deco design. Designed the same year of Rhode’s famous #432 pitcher which was first introduced in 1925 because Georg Jensen found the design to be too modern. With a 1920 date stamp this would have been one of the very first to be produced. Design #304 is normally seen with a silver handle, this handle is silver and wrapped with the original rattan. This piece was completely handmade in two pieces, joined at the middle, which can be seen on the inside of the jug.

  • Dimensions: H: 4 3/4″ (12 cm) x W: 8 1/4″ (21cm)
  • Hallmarks: With vintage Georg Jensen hallmark and year stamp 1920, “GI 830s” and import marks for Sweden.
