Monumental Georg Jensen Art Deco Candleabra
A pair of extraordinary and presumably unique monumental Georg Jensen sterling silver candelabra, designed by Harald Nielsen in 1926. These exceptionally tall and elegant pieces feature thirteen lights/sconces each, showcasing a breathtaking blend of craftsmanship and design.
Each candelabrum rests on a round, hand-chased base, supporting an elongated central pole adorned with fine hand-chased lines. At the base of the arms is a striking, large floral bulb. The gracefully curving arms extend outward, holding sconces arranged in a dramatic three-tiered layout, culminating in a single, elevated candleholder at the center.
These mesmerizing candelabra were designed and crafted specifically for “Nordisk Fjerfabrik” in 1926. (Nordisk Fjerfabrik A/S, also known as Nordisk Fjer, was a Danish feather company established in 1901 by Hans Ove Lange. The company was renowned for importing and processing raw feathers from regions such as China, Russia, and Siberia.)
The hallmarks on these candelabra date from 1925–1932, with records confirming that this pair was uniquely commissioned for Nordisk Fjer in 1926.
