Large Georg Jensen Sterling Silver Box 156C

A large vintage sterling silver Georg Jensen box with applied floral details and finial, design #156C by Georg Jensen from circa 1918. The finial is an assembly of stylized Jensen stems and buds surrounded by a beaded circle, a large budding flower sprouts to each side and the four feet are stylistic leaves and berries. There is a floral garland under each side of the box. This piece is very rare and in excellent condition, the hammered surface is still visible.

Dimensions: Measures 6 3/8″ x 4″ and 4 1/2″ in height (16cm x 10cm x 11cm).

Hallmarks: Vintage Georg Jensen hallmark and both Danish and London assay marks for 1923. This piece is hallmarked underneath the box and under the lid.
