Large Danish Sterling Silver Rosenborg Serving Platter

A large and exquisite Danish “Rosenborg” serving platter, crafted from sterling silver by A. Michelsen in 1946. The platter features four elegant shell and leaf motifs that encircle its large oval form. The piece is beautifully designed with a hand-chased, raised rim border and a sunken center. The tray also showcases repousse work, which can be seen from the backside, highlighting the intricate craftsmanship involved. The handcrafting of this piece required considerable time and expert skill.

Dimensions: 24 1/4″ (62 cm) x 16″ (40.5 cm).
Hallmarks: A M 1946, Danish silver three-tower stamp with 46, and SJ, the assay master hallmark for that period.
Weight: A very heavy piece, weighing 2200 grams (77.60 oz.).
