Important Georg Jensen Minas Spiridis Centerpiece

A unique museum worthy important one-of-a-kind Georg Jensen sterling silver sculptural centerpiece, designed by Minas Spiridis in 1999. This extraordinary piece is the very definition of silver as art. Created purely as a sculptural object, its purpose is to serve as a striking work of contemporary home décor.

Minas Spiridis (1938–2020) was a Greek-born sculptor and designer renowned for his fluid, organic forms inspired by nature and the human body. Trained as both an artist and architect, he developed a distinctive sculptural language characterized by sensual curves, movement, and harmonious proportions. His work ranged from monumental public sculptures to furniture and decorative arts and was exhibited internationally.

This centerpiece embodies Spiridis’ artistic vision, featuring a large free-flowing organic form with sweeping wrapped edges and graceful curves. Exceptionally heavy and impressive in scale, its fluid design would have been extraordinarily difficult to fabricate, showcasing the highest level of silversmithing craftsmanship. Produced by Georg Jensen and inscribed “THE FIRST AND ONLY ONE SO FAR,” it stands as a remarkable fusion of contemporary sculpture and masterful silverwork.
