Georg Jensen Sterling Silver Tea Set 984

A Mid-Century sterling silver Georg Jensen tea service, design 984B by Ib Bluitgen from 1952. This rare early version features rattan-wrapped handles on both the teapot and creamer. The teapot has a conical shape with a smaller diameter at the base, which serves as the supporting foundation. Its swing-type handle is highly functional, allowing it to swing to one side when removing the lid. The elongated spout has a very organic shape. The creamer, with its attached spout, features a hand-wrapped rattan curved handle and shares the same inverted base design. The sugar bowl is a simple conical shape with the same inverted base.

Specifications:

  • Teapot: 7 1/2″ (18.5 cm) H x 7″ x 5″ (13 cm), Creamer: 4″ (10 cm) H, Sugar bowl: 2 1/4″ (5.5 cm) H
  • Hallmarks: Vintage Georg Jensen hallmarks for 1945-1977
