Georg Jensen Sterling Silver Sculptural Bowl 1068
This exceptional and rare large sterling silver centerpiece was designed by Henning Koppel in 1958 and showcases his signature sculptural artistry. Known as Bowl #1068, it is a masterpiece of asymmetrical design.
The bowl rests on three distinct and unique points: the first being the base of the bowl itself, the second a leg created by an extended curve of the rim, and the third a leg projecting outward at an angle. The unconventional and asymmetrical form captures the essence of modernist art and design, making it as much a sculpture as it is a functional piece.
Handcrafted entirely by skilled artisans, this centerpiece bears early Georg Jensen hallmarks from the 1945-1977 period, placing it among the few early examples of this design. Only the most experienced silversmiths would have been entrusted to create such a complex and remarkable piece.
