Georg Jensen Sterling Silver Sauce Set #177

A vintage Georg Jensen sterling silver three-piece sauce set, design #177 by Georg Jensen in 1916. It is rare to find this set with all three pieces intact, particularly the underline tray, which is difficult to fabricate. The large sauce boat features an oceanic shape with a curved, handcrafted handle and a pea pod design. The central section is adorned with an intricate hand-chased floral motif. The oval base showcases hand-chased lines inspired by Nordic Viking design, with a single bead atop each section of three etchings. The oval, handcrafted tray is richly detailed, featuring the same handle and pea pod design, and is encircled by an outer bar rim. The spoon, design #141, was specifically crafted for this set, incorporating the same pea pod design and handcrafted detail.
