Georg Jensen Sterling Silver Sauce Boat 233

A large sterling silver sauce boat, design #233 by Georg Jensen from 1917. This piece showcases exceptional handcraftsmanship, likely requiring a seasoned silversmith months to fabricate, making it a rare find. The boat features a hand-hammered, double-lipped oval bowl with an oceanic form and a turned lip applied around the top. It has two curved handles on opposite sides, adorned with a bead and floral motif. The center section highlights a large single berry encircled by four curved, hand-chased floral leaves that provide support. The boat’s underside features a handcrafted beaded edge, and the lower section includes a hand-cut floral motif pedestal. The base is oval-shaped.
