Georg Jensen Sterling Silver Mayan Cake Server 195

A Georg Jensen Sterling Silver Mayan Cake Server, Design #195 (1937).
Designed by Johan Rohde in 1937, this early cake or pastry server showcases the Mayan pattern, a design language that draws inspiration from Nordic traditions. The handle is sterling, the blade of stainless steel. The geometric motifs reminiscent of Viking rune carvings and stylized ornamentation, blending Mayan symbolism with the strength and rhythm of Scandinavian design. Entirely handcrafted, the piece reflects both Rohde’s modernist vision and Georg Jensen’s legacy of fine silversmithing.
