Georg Jensen Sterling Silver Lidded Tureen 525B

An early Georg Jensen sterling silver Art Deco tureen, design no. 525 by Harald Nielsen, dating from 1928, among the very first examples produced of this design.

The piece features a round, hand-raised bowl with two substantial Art Deco handles, each adorned with prominent silver bead-like elements and finely hand-chased floral stems. The thick handles are elegantly joined to the body with stylized leaf motifs. The tureen is fitted with a heavy, stepped lid crowned by a bold, sculptural floral finial. Both the bowl and lid display a subtle hand-hammered surface, adding texture and depth to the overall design.

  • Dimensions: 11 in. (27.6 cm) across the handles; 6 1/8 in. (15.5 cm) in height
  • Weight: 1070 g (37.74 oz.)
  • Hallmarks: Early Georg Jensen marks from the design period (1925–1932), stamped “Sterling Denmark.”
