Georg Jensen Sterling Silver Large Pyramid Candlesticks 860A

A pair of Georg Jensen sterling silver candlesticks, design no. 860A by Harald Nielsen, introduced in 1938. Each has a broad circular base rising to a stepped cylindrical socket, with two oxidised recessed bands breaking up the plain silver. The shape is pure Danish Art Deco: nothing applied, all of it worked into the form.

The marks are from 1933 to 1944 and the design was introduced in 1938, so this pair was made between 1938 and 1944. From a private Danish estate.
