Georg Jensen Sterling Silver Inkwell 254

An antique Georg Jensen sterling silver inkwell and matching pen, design #254 by Georg Jensen in 1918. The rectangular base is meticulously hand-hammered, showcasing a finely crafted beaded edge. The inkwell displays intricate hand chasing, with two round wells adorned with raised floral motifs and a floral bulb handle. The interior comprises two removable parts: a gilded base for holding ink and the original sterling silver flutes that secure the pen during dipping.

Remarkably well-preserved despite being over a century old, this piece exhibits minimal signs of use, and the hammered details remain prominently visible. A new ink nib for the pen will be provided with the purchase.

Dimensions:

  • Inkwell: 9″ (23cm) wide x 5 3/4″ (14.5cm) wide x 2″ (4.5cm) high.
  • Pen: 6 3/8″ (16 cm) excluding nib.
  • Weight: 1038 Grams (36,61 oz.)
  • Hallmarks: Date stamp for 1920, Georg Jensen GI 830s 254.
