Georg Jensen Sterling Silver Bowl 242

a sterling silver Georg Jensen bowl, featuring a pierced stem adorned with floral details and scrolls. It was designed by Johan Rohde in 1919, identified by design number #242. The bowl sits atop a round raised tiered base connected to a central section. Six scroll columns with floral motifs support the bowl, showcasing meticulous chasing and silversmithing techniques. At the center, there’s a grape motif crafted using individual silver beads rather than casting—a testament to the craftsmanship of its time. The slightly hand-hammered bowl is perfectly sized for small fruits, chocolates, or a petite floral arrangement.
