Georg Jensen Sterling Silver Bonbonniere 1336

A Georg Jensen sterling silver and frosted glass bonbonnière, design #1336 by Allan Scharff.

This sculptural piece features a rounded frosted glass base topped with a beautifully formed sterling silver lid. The lid has an organic, almost bird-like form, characteristic of Allan Scharff’s nature-inspired work, with the projecting detail suggesting the head and beak of a bird.

The contrast between the softly frosted glass and highly polished sterling silver gives the piece a striking contemporary appearance. Designed as a bonbonnière or covered bowl, it is equally appealing as a decorative object.

This is example #20, with production date mark X10 for 1996, placing its manufacture close to the original design date. The piece is new and unused.
