Hollowware
Georg Jensen Sterling Silver Blossom Wine Coaster/Bread Plate 2B
A large sized vintage sterling silver Georg Jensen Blossom coaster or bread plate design #2B by Georg Jensen from 1905. A round raised plate with three cut out areas holding a large blossom hand chased floral bulb and branches. The Blossom teapot was Georg Jensen’s very first hollowware design from 1905. This is one of the many Blossom pieces that were added to compliment the Blossom series. The design, with its floral-inspired details, not only harks back to the early 20th century but also continues to resonate as a symbol of enduring elegance. It reflected the Art Nouveau aesthetic prevalent during the era, showcasing a departure from traditional designs and an embrace of nature-inspired forms.
