Georg Jensen Sterling Silver Art Deco Centerpiece Bowl No. 752B by Harald Nielsen, Denmark 1935

An early Art Deco sterling silver centerpiece bowl by Harald Nielsen for Georg Jensen, design no. 752B, introduced in 1935. This substantial and sculptural centerpiece dates to the original production period (1935–1944). Given the limited manufacture and sale of silver during World War II, it was most likely purchased between 1935 and 1941.

The bowl is hand-raised with a broad, rounded form and an applied rim, carefully filed to create a seamless, fluid silhouette. Two large, sweeping handles with oxidized interiors are mounted to opposing wing-like arms that follow the curve of the underside, converging gracefully at the foot. The piece rests on a wide, hand-crafted circular base that provides both stability and visual balance.

Dimensions: 13 5/8″ (34.5 cm) across the handles x11 15/16″ (30.2 cm) diameter x 3 1/2″ (8.5 cm) height to the top of the handles

Weight: 1933 grams (68.18 oz.), notably heavy
