Georg Jensen Signed Sterling Silver Cup

A unique Georg Jensen doubled-handled cup, made and signed by Georg Jensen in 1933. Pieces with Georg Jensen’s inscribed signature are rare, and this piece is no exception. This small cup was most likely made for a christening to be presented to the parents of a newborn, a Danish tradition from past years. The cup is completely handmade with an applied upper lip. The two art deco style handles feature a large ball enclosed in a silver loop. The design resembles other pieces Jensen created in the last few years of his life. This particular piece was made in 1933, two years before Jensen passed away in 1935.

Dimensions: 2 7/8″ (7cm) tall. The inside diameter of the cup measures 2 3/4″ (6.5cm).

Weight: 106 grams (3.73 oz.)

Hallmarks: A Danish three-tower stamp with the numbers 33 for 1933. Georg Jensen’s signature as well as SJ (the silver assay master at that time).

All our items have been professionally polished by our Georg Jensen trained silversmith and are in excellent condition.
