Georg Jensen Cypress Sterling Silverware Set For 12

A Georg Jensen sterling silver service for twelve in the Cypress pattern, design no. 99, created by the Norwegian designer Tias Eckhoff for the silversmithy’s fiftieth anniversary in 1954. Eckhoff, a ceramicist by training and winner of the Lunning Prize at just twenty-seven, gave the pattern long, softly tapering handles that let the form speak without ornament. This service runs to ten pieces per setting, covering dinner and luncheon courses as well as fish, dessert and coffee, making it a genuinely comprehensive Cypress service for twelve.
