Georg Jensen Continental Silverware Service For Twelve

A comprehensive vintage sterling silverware service for 12 in the Continental pattern, pattern #4 by Georg Jensen in 1906. This pattern marks Georg Jensen’s inaugural venture into silverware design. Inspired by the early Danish wooden spoons utilized by Danish laborers for tending to their animals and crops, Jensen’s design pays homage to simplicity. The intent was to spotlight the artisanal expertise through the prominent display of each hand-hammered mark.

This expansive service includes 12 settings, each comprising 11 pieces, and encompasses essentials such as the fish knife and fork.

The set comprises:

  • 12 Dinner Forks: 7 1/4″ (18.4cm)
  • 12 Dinner Knives: 8 7/8″ (22.5cm) with stainless steel blades
  • 12 Dinner Spoons: 7 3/4″ (19.8cm)
  • 12 Salad/Luncheon Forks: 6 7/8″ (17.6cm)
  • 12 Dessert Spoons: 6 3/4″ (17.2cm)
  • 12 Fish Forks: 6 3/4″ (17cm)
  • 12 Fish Knives: 8″ (20.4cm)
  • 12 Cake Forks: 5 5/8″ (14.2cm)
  • 12 Fruit Knives: 5 5/8″ (14.2cm)
  • 12 Teaspoons: 5″ (12.6cm)
  • 12 Coffee Spoons: 4 1/4″ (10.8cm)

In total, there are 120 pieces, each bearing matching Georg Jensen hallmarks, all meticulously crafted in Denmark.
