Georg Jensen Continental Silverware Service For Twelve

An extensive vintage Georg Jensen sterling silver service for twelve in the Continental pattern, Antik in Danish, design no. 4 and the first flatware pattern Georg Jensen ever drew, in 1906. He took his starting point from the plain wooden spoons Danish farm labourers carried while tending their animals and fields, and translated that honest, working shape into silver. The hammer marks are left visible across every surface rather than polished away. Running to twelve settings of eleven pieces, this is Continental at a depth that rarely survives intact. It remains the most distinctly handmade of all Georg Jensen patterns.
