Georg Jensen Extensive Caravel Sterling Silverware Set

An extensive and rare vintage Georg Jensen sterling silverware service for twenty-four in the Caravel pattern. Designed by Henning Koppel in 1957, Caravel showcases a modern and minimalist aesthetic, devoid of embellishments. This comprehensive set comprises 127 pieces, all crafted in Denmark, highlighting the craftsmanship before Georg Jensen shifted production of this pattern outside of Denmark. Each piece is meticulously crafted and bears the appropriate hallmarks.

The set includes:

  • 24 Entrée forks: 6 3/4″ (17.2 cm)
  • 24 Dinner knives: 8 5/8″ (22 cm)
  • 24 Soup/Dessert spoons: 6 7/8″ (17.4 cm)
  • 24 Luncheon knives: 7 5/8″ (19.2 cm)
  • 24 Pastry/Dessert forks: 5 5/8″ (14.3 cm)

 

Serving pieces:

  • 2 Serving spoons: 8 1/2″ (22 cm)
  • 2 Serving forks: 8 1/2″ (22 cm) – rare, matching the set for use as salad servers
  • 2 Four-pronged serving forks: 8 1/2″ (22 cm) – very rare
  • 1 Cake server: 7 7/8″ (20 cm)

Hallmarks: Vintage and early Georg Jensen hallmarks, sterling Denmark, made in Denmark.

*The set comes with new felt storage bags and is in very good condition, exhibiting a patina consistent with minimal use. There are no dents in any of the pieces.
