Georg Jensen Bittersweet Sterling Silverware Set for Twelve

A vintage Georg Jensen sterling silverware service in the rare Bittersweet pattern, design #79 from 1940 by Gundorph Albertus. This is the sister pattern to Cactus, also designed by Gundorph Albertus. This estate set was all bought at Georg Jensen at the same time, circa 1950 and has seen very little use. There are a number of servers in this set including a large two piece all silver serving set as well a numerous other rare items.

The set is:

  • 12 dinner forks 7 3/8″ (18.6 cm).
  • 12 dinner knives 8 7/8″ (19.8cm).
  • 12 oval soup spoons 6 5/8″ (16.5cm).
  • 12 Salad forks 6 1/8″ (16.3cm).
  • 12 extra large teaspoons 5 7/8″ (14.9cm).
  • 12 butter spreaders 6″ (15cm).
  • 12 grapefruit/dessert spoons 5 7/8″ (14.8cm)
  • Servers:
  • A two piece medium all silver serving set 9″ (22.7cm)
  • 1 Pie server 7 7/8″ (20cm).
  • 1 meat serving fork 81/4″ (20.8cm).
  • 1 sauce ladle 7 1/4″ (18.2cm).
  • 1 marmalade spoon 5 1/2″ (14cm).
  • 2 cold cut forks 6 1/8″ (15.2cm)
  • 1 caviar spreader 5 7/8″ (15 cm)
  • 1 egg spoon 4 1/2″ (11.2cm)

94 pieces, all is excellent like new polished condition.
