Georg Jensen Bernadotte Bowl From The Danish Royal Family

This is a sterling silver Georg Jensen bowl, design by Sigvard Bernadotte from 1938. The monogram of King Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid is mounted inside the bowl. On the outside of the bowl is a hand written inscription in Danish, “Til Vest med Tak for Rejsen til Amerika fra Ingrid & Frederik” (To Vest with thanks for the trip to America from Ingrid & Frederik). Crown Prince Frederik & Princess Ingrid travelled to the United States in 1939. Johan Vest was adjutant to the Prince and after Frederik was crowned as king, Vest became the head of his court (Hofmarskal) from 1947-1964.

The bowl measures 2 1/4″ in height and has a diameter of 6 1/4″ (6cm, 15.8cm).

Marked underneath with Georg Jensen hallmarks, usually used 1925-1932, in this case used as the mark is topped with a crown, denoting Georg Jensen as purveyors to the Royal Danish Court.

All our items have been professionally polished by our Georg Jensen trained silversmith and are in excellent condition.
