Georg Jensen Art Deco Sterling Silver Cruet Set No. 793
A Georg Jensen sterling silver cruet set in the Art Deco style, design No. 793 by Jørgen Jensen, introduced in 1936. A rare example of the so called “Skyscraper” pattern, the set reflects the geometric precision and refined elegance of the Art Deco period, combined with the high level of craftsmanship associated with Georg Jensen.
The salt and pepper shakers are tall and slender with removable tops. The mustard pot is fitted with a hinged lid. The 793 pieces feature Mayan inspired hand chased decoration and are raised on stepped bases with screw off caps in the base for filling. The set is accompanied by a tray, design No. 572 by Gundorph Albertus, introduced in the same period. The designs complement each other in both form and function.
