Georg Jensen Antique Silver Candelabra #93
A pair of large antique Danish silver Georg Jensen candelabra, design #93 by Georg Jensen in 1918. The meticulous silversmithing showcased in these candelabra is truly remarkable, adorned with an abundance of intricately chased floral motifs and delicate beads. The fabrication process would have required a significant amount of time and skill, as each detail was carefully crafted by hand. Each candelabrum stands on a large round base supported by five elegantly designed feet resembling berries or buds. The hand-hammered stem is exceptionally thick, contributing to the overall grandeur of the design. Two gracefully curved arms extend from the stem, holding a substantial sconce on each end, and elegantly meet in the center of the ornate stem.
The sconces feature a large floral bud at their center, and each having a beaded top. These candelabra, dating back to 1919, bear the unmistakable marks of skilled silversmithing, a level of craftsmanship that would be exceedingly challenging, if not impossible, to replicate in modern times.
- Dimensions: Each 13 1/4″ in height and 11 1/2″ wide at the top. The large base is 7 3/4″ in diameter.
- Hallmarks: Both pieces with matching Georg Jensen hallmarks and date stamp for 1919, one year after the design was created. There is also import marks to Sweden.
All our items have been professionally polished by our Georg Jensen trained silversmith and are in excellent condition.
