Frantz Hingelberg Sterling Silver Teapot
-
An exquisite sterling silver teapot crafted by Frantz Hingelberg, designed in the 1940s by Sven Weihrauch for F. Hingelberg of Aarhus. This teapot was originally purchased directly from Hingelberg in Aarhus, Denmark, at the time of its creation and has remained within the same family since. Its design showcases remarkable craftsmanship, featuring a flat iron kettle shape, a challenging fabrication task. The curved ebonite handle, encased in a silver sleeve directly attached to the teapot, demonstrates exceptional skill. The circular lid, adorned with an ebony knob for safe handling when warm, exhibits intricate details such as a notch to secure it in place, along with hallmarks located underneath. A gracefully formed spout with applied edges ensures perfect pouring, while an ebonite ring on the base protects surfaces from heat.
