Extremely Rare F. Hingelberg Mid-Century Kettle 282
This is an extremely rare and desirable sterling silver F. Hingelberg kettle on stand with burner and ivory handle and finial. Designed in 1943 by Sven Weihrauch for F. Hingelberg of Aarhus, Denmark and given design #282. Superb design and unsurpassed craftsmanship, the kettle has a small dimple on the underside of the handle which fits onto a discreet stud in the bracket, so the kettle hangs securely above the burner. This piece is pictured on page 145 of the book Svend Weihrauch Sølv 1928-1956 Silber, by Jörg Schwandt
The stand measures 10″ in height, the base has a diameter of 6″ (25cm, 15cm), the base is filled to counter-balance the weight of the filled kettle and is covered undreneath with felt.
The kettle is 7″ in height to the top of the handle, approximate diameter 6½” (17cm, 16cm).
The kettle, lid, stand and burner are all marked with Hingelberg hallmarks from 1937-1944 and model number 282.
All our items have been professionally polished by our Georg Jensen trained silversmith and are in excellent condition.
