Erik Sjodahl Sterling Silver Candlesticks

A pair of sterling silver candlesticks with hand-hammered surface from 1977, designed by Erik Sjodahl Andersen for V. Holmstrup of Copenhagen, Denmark. A cylindrical pipe is raised from an unusual square base with raised sides, extremely difficult to make. The pipe has a very gently hammered surface, the hammering on the surface of the base is much more pronounced.

Dimensions: Measure 5 3/4″ in height, the base is  5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ (14.7cm, 13.8cm x 13.8cm).

Hallmarks: “V.HOLMSTRUP SJODAHL.A STERLING DENMARK 925S 78 15″. The small “78” mark is the production year, 1978. One candlestick is marked “15”, the other “16”, these were the 15th and 16th examples made.

All our items have been professionally polished by our Georg Jensen trained silversmith and are in excellent condition.
