Early Georg Jensen Ornamental Fish Service for six 170

An exceptionally rare sterling silver fish service for six, featuring the iconic Georg Jensen silverware pattern #170, which was originally designed in 1914. This early set comprises six fish knives and six fish forks, each bearing a 1925 date stamp, indicating their remarkable antiquity. Notably, design #170 was subsequently transformed into design #55, making these artifacts among the earliest produced. Each piece features a hollow handle intricately fashioned into an intertwined fish with an open-mouthed seashell motif. The meticulous hand chasing on these pieces exemplifies unparalleled craftsmanship, showcasing intricate detailing.

  • Hallmarks: Each piece is stamped with a 1925 date mark, alongside ‘170 GI830s CFH’ (reflecting the silver assay master at that time).
