Early Georg Jensen Grapes Large Centerpiece Bowl 296

A large and early Georg Jensen sterling silver Grape oval jardinière centerpiece bowl, design #296 by Georg Jensen. A hand hammered large oval bowl that rests on an oval base surrounded by vines and grapes. There are four wreath-like hinged grape rings that act as handles when lifting the bowl. An iconic Jensen piece that takes months to handcraft. Pictured at the rear of the group image. Several sizes were made in this design, this is the original size, which came to be known as #296A. This piece was presumably made close to the design year 1919, as it is not marked with a size letter.
