Danish Sterling Silver 1960’s Coffee Service

This is a sterling silver Danish coffee service, the coffee pot with wooden handle.

The coffee pot measures 7 3/8″ (18.5cm) in height.

Sugar bowl 2 3/8″ to the top of the handles and 3½” in diameter (6cm, 8.7cm)

Cream jug 2 3/8″ in height and 2½” in diameter (6cm, 6.5cm).

The coffee pot is hallmarked for Carl F. Christiansen (Copenhagen 1943-1963), the sugar and cream jug are hallmarked “Kronen” (Copenhagen 1963-1975). There is no doubt that the set matches, Carl F. Christiansen’s hallmark was a crown with the letters “cc” on, he ceases activity in 1963, the same year as Kronen (danish for the crown) Silver Factory starts. Could it be that Kronen bought Christiansen out, took the name Kronen from the crown hallmark he used and continued producing his designs?
