Georg Jensen Cypress Sterling Silver Silverware Set

This is a Georg Jensen Cypress silverware service for twelve, design #99 by Tias Eckhoff. Norwegian designer Tias Eckhoff’s Cypress was the winning design in a competition to design a flatware pattern for the 50th anniversary of the Georg Jensen Silversmithy in 1954. Eckhoff was awarded the prestigious Lunning prize in 1953 at a young age of 27 years old. Eckhoff was educated as a ceramicist and worked as artistic leader of Porsgrunds Porcelain Factory in Norway.

 The set consists of:

  • 12 dinner forks 7 1/2″ (19cm)
  • 12 dinner knives 8 3/4″ (22.3cm)
  • 12 oval soup spoons 7 1/8″ (18cm)
  • 12 luncheon/salad forks 6 3/4″(17.2cm)
  • 12 pastry forks 5 7/8″ (15cm)
  • 12 coffee spoons 4 3/8″ (11.2cm)

1 serving spoon 8 1/2″, 1 sauce ladle 8 1/2″, 1 meat serving fork 8 1/4″, 1 jam spoon 5 3/4″, 1 sugar spoon 4 3/8″.

77 pieces in all, in excellent polished vintage condition. All pieces are polished by a Georg Jensen trained silversmith.
