Antique Evald Nielsen Silver Pitcher From 1920

This is a vintage silver Danish pitcher with ebony handle, designed and produced  by Evald Nielsen of Copenhagen. This is a hand-hammered pitcher, the hammered surface is still clearly visible.  The pitcher “leans” forward, the hand-carved ebony handle “grows” out from an elaborate floral decoration above and below. Evald Nielsen was a contemporary of Georg Jensen, and had his own bombastic interpretation of the Art Nouveau style.

Dimensions: Measures 8 7/8″ in height, diameter at base 4 3/8″ (22.5cm, 11.1cm). Gross weight 20.6oz (585g). This pitcher is large, filled to the narrow neck, it holds ca. 47.3fl.oz (1.4L).

Hallmarks: Marked with “Evald Nielsen” signature and with Danish assay marks (Three Towers & Guardein) for 1920, probably 830s.

All our items have been professionally polished by our Georg Jensen trained silversmith and are in excellent condition.
