Antique Evald Nielsen Art Nouveau Silver Tray

This is an antique silver Danish tray, designed and produced  by Evald Nielsen (active 1905-1931) of Copenhagen. This hand-hammered oval tray, decorated with four different floral motifs, the stems of two forming small handles. The hammered surface is still very visible. Evald Nielsen was a contemporary of Georg Jensen, and had his own bombastic interpretation of the Art Nouveau style.

Dimensions: Measures 16 5/8″ in length x 11″ (42.3cm, 28cm). Weighs 26.63oz (755g).

Hallmarks: Marked underneath with “Evald Nielsen” signature and with Danish assay marks (Three Towers & Guardein) for 1917, probably 830s. There is an engraving underneath with a dedication in Danish, dated 18/10 1917.

All our items have been professionally polished by our Georg Jensen trained silversmith and are in excellent condition.
