A Rare Georg Jensen Sterling Silver Tankard 566

This is a Georg Jensen sterling silver tankard or “stein”, design #566 by Oscar Gundlach-Pedersen.  A curious mix of traditional and Art Deco design. The surface of the silver is lightly hammered, the lever for lifting the lid is a stylistic shell shape.

Dimensions: Measures 5 1/8″ (13cm) in height to the top of the shell and 3 3/4″ in diameter at the rim (13cm, 9.5cm). This tankard holds circa 12 3/4fl.oz (400ml). Weighs 15.16oz (430g).

Hallmarks: Vintage Georg Jensen hallmarks from 1925-1932. Engraved underneath with the date “25.3.1932”.
