A Monumental Georg Jensen Sterling Silver Champagne Bucket 19D
A new monumental Danish sterling silver Georg Jensen Centerpiece bowl, design #19D by Georg Jensen from 1912. A monumental bowl resting on a stem of leaves and berries rising from a stepped, hammered foot. The hand hammered surface, one of Georg Jensen’s trademarks, is pristine and reflects light in all directions. When filled with ice, water will condense on the outside of the bowl, giving an almost magical sheen. This design was purchased in 1914 by the Louvre museum in Paris for their permanent collection and is commonly referred to as the “Louvre” bowl. Several sizes were later produced, this was (by far!) the largest size.
Measurements: 12½” in height and 19 1/4″ in diameter (31.7cm, 49cm).
Weight: The weight is an incredible 13.40lbs (214 oz.) (6.75 Kilograms)!
Hallmarks: Georg Jensen hallmarks and date code Y11 for 2021, “Sterling Denmark”.
All our items have been professionally polished by our Georg Jensen trained silversmith and are in excellent condition.
