A Michelsen Vintage Danish Mid-Century Tea Caddy

A rare Danish mid-century modern tea caddy from a wonderful estate collection, designed by Ibi Trier Mørch for A. Michelsen. Trier Mørch’s work was influenced by Erik Herløw, with whom she apprenticed, and reflects her architectural training through clean structural lines and a complete absence of ornamentation.

This elegant sterling silver tea caddy is composed of two pieces. The upper section is cylindrical in form with a subtly beveled recessed lid, while the lower section mirrors the same refined minimalist aesthetic with softly rounded hand-crafted edges — a technically demanding form to fabricate.
