A. Michelsen Sterling Silver Kay Fisker Pitcher
A large vintage sterling silver pitcher designed by Kay Fisker in 1935 and produced by A. Michelsen, Copenhagen. Its elegant drop-shaped body features a slender neck that leads into an elongated spout. The spout flows seamlessly into the handle, showcasing a graceful design that predates the Mid-Century period. The complexity of fabricating this piece was due to the thin neck and modern form, which would highlight any silversmithing flaws. This design served as a forerunner to the Mid-Century Danish design movement, inspiring many subsequent works. There are two sizes of this pitcher, with this being the large size.
