Elsinore/Agave
The Elsinore pattern from 1937 is arguably Harald Nielsen’s purest Art Deco design. It is also one of the rarer Jensen Patterns, possibly sharing the fate of the Bittersweet pattern, the interruption of the war years and the advent of post-war modernism. The Danish name for this pattern is “Agave”.
Art Nouveau is an artistic design period that flourished in Europe from 1890 to 1910. The style was inspired by national romanticism and the curves and ornamental details of nature. Art Nouveau pieces are often characterized by organic lines and forms.
