Acanthus/Dronning
Designed in 1917 by Johan Rohde, Acanthus is the sister pattern to the Acorn pattern. In Danish this pattern is called “Dronning” (Queen), Acorn is called “Konge” (King).
Art Deco, short for Arts Décoratifs, is an artistic design period that flourished between 1920 and 1939. The style was inspired by Constructivism, Cubism, Modernism, Bauhaus, Art Nouveau and Futurism. Art Deco pieces are characterized by bold colors, geometric shapes, and decadent details. The style carries an emphasis on elegance and function, without using historical references.
